【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseasaguideincaseswhereanexperimentaldeterminationofheatofcombustionisnotavailableandcannotbemadeconveniently,andwhereanestimateisconsideredsatisfactory.Itisnotintendedasasubstituteforexperimentalmeasurementsofheatofcombustion.Note38212;TheprocedurefortheexperimentaldeterminationofthenetheatofcombustionisdescribedinTestMethodsD240andD4809.1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheestimationofthenetheatofcombustionatconstantpressureinSIunits(megajoulesperkilogram)orinch-poundunits(Btuperpound).1.2Thistestmethodispurelyempiricalandisapplicableonlytoliquidhydrocarbonfuelsderivedbynormalrefiningprocessesfromconventionalcrudeoil,whichconformtotherequirementsofspecificationsforaviationgasolines,oraircraftturbineandjetenginefuelsoflimitedboilingrangesandcompositionsasdescribedinNote1.Theestimationofthenetheatofcombustionofahydrocarbonfuelfromaniline-gravityproductisjustifiableonlywhenthefuelbelongstoawell-definedclassforwhicharelationbetweenheatofcombustionandaniline-gravityproducthasbeenderivedfromaccurateexperimentalmeasurementsonrepresentativesamplesofthatclass.Eveninthiscase,thepossibilitythattheestimatesmaybeinerrorbylargeamountsforindividualfuelsshouldberecognized.Theclassesoffuelsusedtoestablishthecorrelationpresentedinthistestmethodarerepresentedbythefollowingspecifications:1.3Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletopurehydrocarbons.Itisnotintendedasasubstituteforexperimentalmeasurementsofheatofcombustion.1.4TheheatofcombustionmayalsobedeterminedinSIunitsbyTestMethodD4529.TestMethodD4529requirescalculationofasingleequationforallaviationfuelswithaprecisionequivalenttothatofthistestmethod.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard,unlessotherwisestated(see1.1).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
